"Meet BATC Board Members"
Today's feature - Board Secretary - Lilly Wynn

Occupation: Physical Therapist

Why I joined BATC: Wanted to start my journey towards a full IronMan distance and desperately needed some guidance

What I like about being a member: The support. This is an automatic group of people who have been there and will help answer your questions, push you, work out with you, drink with you, help you stuff your face after a race. They don't care if you have chain grease, or road rash, or smell like the Chesapeake. I'm really proud of the races I've done, and there is no way I would have done it without this group

Brief triathlon history: While I was in PT school, a group of "friends" convinced me to run my first half marathon. Later that year they were all volunteering at DC Nations Tri. I figured....I was a college swimmer. And I can make it through 13.1 miles. How hard can biking be? Did the Olympic and I was hooked. Since then I've done a variety of local races, including IronMan Maryland in 2017.

Advice to others who have not joined a club: I think all athletes need a team. If you have a swim team, or a bike club, or a running club that's great. I personally find a triathlon team for triathlons to be better than any of those individually. But honestly, just join any of the 4 teams so you have support; whatever works best for you!

Why join BATC: As a completely unbiased 3rd party, because we're the best! We support all levels of triathlete, and work hard to make our club what our members need to be.

Favorite post race snack: Fried chicken and mac n cheese, with a milkshake

I already renewed my membership, let me know how I can help this year

Andrew Parlock has already tossed me into the deep end of the pool for some conditioning/skill drills. BATC support is real. 🏊‍♂️

Yay!
